Scarlett recently completed her tenure as the inaugural Associate Artistic Director and Director of Innovation & Strategy at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the largest and among the most iconic repertory theatre in North America, radically diversifying artistic modalities & business strategies to establish OSF as experience economy trailblazer.
As executive innovation leader, Scarlett presented 70+ projects and generated 1,100+ creative jobs expanding the definition of theatre. Highlights include leading bespoke partnerships with Park Avenue Armory, Museum of Other Realities, Artizen, Games for Change, and Glow Up Games, and helming new work by seminal multihyphenate artists including Ty Defoe, Shariffa Ali, Daniel Alexander Jones, Nao Bustamante, and Raja Feather Kelly.

Scarlett is an innovation and versatile arts leader with a 10+ year international career in producing, curating and creating across the performing arts, Extended Reality, immersive, visual art, and film.

The Mortuary
The Mortuary is a curatorial initiative and performance laboratory for “unclassifiable practices in life and art.” As Artistic Director and Co-Founder (with Anthony Storniolo), Scarlett created a liberating space for experimentation and play for artists that defied conventions of theatre, music, dance, and new media. The Mortuary housed hybrid and intersectional forms including Korean shaman ceremonies, digital double performances, improvisational chamber orchestras, and experimental larps.
The Mortuary hosted “little death,” a performance salon and an incubator for participatory performance, which served as a vital social and artistic hub for the Los Angeles performance community every month.
Quills Fest
Quills Fest is a transdisciplinary festival where immersive technology and live performance come out to play. Scarlett is the Creative Producer of Quills Fest and the Quills VR World.
Commissioned and produced 10 groundbreaking world-premiere XR experiences led by visionary BIPOC artists from around the globe
Presented 22 trailblazing XR projects through bespoke partnerships with innovation leaders in performing arts and immersive technology
Hired hundreds of artists and creative technologists, with a focus on championing artist mobility for XR newcomers
Founded the field-first Creative Technologist in Residence Program & hosted Cyril Tsiboulski & Illya Szilak as our first cohort, with whom we launched Quills VR World, a gravity-defying VR twin of America’s oldest Elizabethan Theatre at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, built in Unreal & hosted on VAST
CultureHub LA
Scarlett oversaw artistic programming of CultureHub LA, the LA branch of global art and technology studio founded by La MaMa Experimental Theater Club and Seoul Institute of the Arts with networked centers in Korea, NYC, Italy, Indonesia, and LA.
At CultureHub, Scarlett spearheaded the curation and producing of Re-Fest, CultureHub’s art + technology + activism festival, in LA. Scarlett directed the CultureHub artist residency program, curating a yearly cohort of resident artists and curators, and supporting full life-cycles of adventurous projects.
